
Theme: Carnival of Champions
White Cotton School hosted its Biennial Inter-House Sports Competition on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the Abesan Youth Sports Center. The event was an exciting showcase of athleticism, teamwork, and sportsmanship, featuring a variety of sporting activities that brought together students, staff, parents, and invited schools for a day of friendly competition and celebration.
Opening Ceremony: A Grand Kickoff
The event commenced with an opening prayer, followed by a heartfelt rendition of the National Anthem and School Anthem, led by the Head Girl, Joy Uno. The Chairman of the event, Mr. Adeola Adekunle, delivered an inspiring speech to officially declare the competition open.
A key highlight of the opening ceremony was the Lighting of the Torch of Unity, carried by the Head Boy, Nathan Adeola, and presented to the Chairman and Proprietress, symbolizing unity and fair play. The Parade to the Galleryfollowed, showcasing the vibrancy of the four competing houses. The Oath-Taking Ceremony, led by Divine IgweFrancis and Tamara Finikumor, reaffirmed the commitment of all athletes to integrity and sportsmanship. The Head of School’s speech concluded the formal opening segment, paving the way for a mesmerizing cheerleading performance by the ballerinas, which set the stage for an exhilarating day of sports.

Pupils from all grade levels participated, adding diversity and excitement to the competition.
